The George occupies a central position within the town and is well placed to become a vibrant social hub, bringing together customers through a strong programme of sport, entertainment and events. Daventry is a historic market town in West Northamptonshire with a strong local customer base and busy town centre environment. Top local attractions to the area include the scenic Daventry Country Park, the local exhibits at Daventry Museum and the picturesque waterside walks and narrowboats at Braunston Marina.
The George is a well‑established traditional community pub located in the centre of Daventry, known for its live sport, entertainment and strong local following.
While compact from the outside, the pub opens up into a surprisingly spacious trading area centred around a single bar operation. Pool, darts and live sport already play an important role in the offer, supported by multiple large TV screens throughout the pub, providing a strong foundation for an operator looking to create a lively atmosphere throughout the week.
The vision for the business is to establish The George as the go‑to venue in Daventry for sport, entertainment and great value. With fully funded Sky Sports and TNT Sports, upgraded AV equipment and the Innfinite entertainment system included as part of the exclusive launch offer, an incoming publican will have all the tools needed to create a strong weekly rhythm of activity.
The pub is well suited to a varied programme of entertainment, from quizzes and karaoke to themed nights, live music and major sporting occasions, giving customers plenty of reasons to return throughout the week.
Outside, the pub benefits from a spacious, recently invested in, enclosed beer garden with ample seating, festoon lighting and a smoking solution, creating an attractive space for events and social occasions. The pub also benefits from a car park with space for around six vehicles.
The private accommodation would consist of four bedrooms, a lounge, and a kitchenette. The landlords will ensure that this accommodation is in good order.

Live Entertainment
To set the right operator up for success from day one, the landlords offer a powerful start‑up package, including:
- Sky Sports (Q) and TNT Sports fully funded by the landlords
- The landlords' investment in upgraded AV, TV and entertainment equipment
- Innfinite entertainment system installed with all monthly charges paid for by the landlords
- A stepped rent concession for your first 6 months to support early cash flow: 25% (months 1–2), 20% (month 3), 15% (month 4), 10% (months 5–6).
- Free access to an online training platform for you and your team
These incentives give you the best possible foundation to grow a thriving, busy pub. The landlords also analysed your local market to help you position your pricing and product range for maximum footfall and success.
This opportunity will suit an energetic, community‑minded publican who enjoys creating a busy atmosphere and being at the heart of local life.
Someone who can build a strong weekly rhythm of sport, entertainment and events will do particularly well here. The landlords are looking for a publican who can use social media, local marketing and community engagement to keep the pub visible and give customers regular reasons to visit.
A hands‑on approach, high standards and strong people skills will be essential. This could suit an experienced operator looking for a new challenge or a first‑time publican with the drive, enthusiasm and commitment to build a thriving business.
